Athena is still considered a patroness?

Another important part of the traditions is the statue of the goddess Athena, the patron goddess of the College, in Thomas Great Hall. Students leave gifts and notes for the statue when they desire help from the goddess.

Yes. The cultus is still active but struggles in Athens to obtain basic religious freedoms. There are scattered web communities and a lot of researchers have provided the reconstructionist information online. Try:
