The Streaking Cleric

I can't say I have much to say about the local priest caught doing some nudist jogging, but Diogenes noticed the timeline. It seems disciplinary action followed quickly not after the deed was made known to the chancery, but after the deed was made known to the public five weeks later. It tempts one to cynicism.

In a different day and age running around naked was a sign of holiness and scantity (e.g. St. Francis).

I have to say that I really have no idea if what was going on here is sinister or not. What seems obvious is that the only person who seems to have been harmed by this incident is Fr. Whipkey--he is in my prayers.
